Landau Law Redundancy Calculator
Please use the Landau Law redundancy calculator to calculate your statutory redundancy entitlement.
If you are not sure of your exact employment commencement date, please estimate this. The “calculation type” field allows you to ascertain what your entitlement is where your employer has a more generous redundancy payments policy- typically 1-4 weeks for every year of service.
Please only count your full years of service. For example, 5 years and 3 months count as 5 years.
The weekly, monthly, or annual pay details you need to enter is the gross amount before deductions, such as tax, student loans or child maintenance.
How is the statutory redundancy calculation worked out?
-Pay is capped at £700 per week (this was increased on 6th April 2024).
-Length of service is capped at 20 years.
-The maximum amount of statutory redundancy pay in 2024 is £21,000.
-You do not qualify for a redundancy payment if you have been employed in your present job for less than 2 years.
You receive:
• 0.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re under 22;
• 1 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re between 22 and 41;
• 1.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re 41 or older.
The total number of weeks pay you are entitled to is subject to a pre-determined multiplier.
